Types of Labor & Hourly Charges
Below are the various services offered by Pennington Finishes.
- Consultation, instruction, and project management, as well as drywall repairs, masking and painting, using water based materials with sprayers, brushes and rollers.
- Restoration & finishing of painted woodwork including: sanding, filling, priming and painting with brushes and rollers in any and all volatile solvent and water based products.
- Repair and refinishing of painted or stained wood furniture, doors, millwork, etc. utilizing HVLP spray equipment in catalyzed water and volatile solvent based materials.
- Historic architectural restoration, mural painting and restoration, museum quality faux finishes utilizing catalyzed urethane top coats, 24K. gold and silver leaf application.
Labor rates start at $150.00 per hour with a one hour minimum. On small quick fixes there is no minimum.
Labor rate increases are impacted by a project's location, duration, use of hazardous materials, and difficulty of execution.
A $75.00 per hour consultation fee is required on any project requiring onsite inspection.
Travel time to and from inspection, as well as project execution, will be billed at $60.00 per hour.
All work that has been paid for, is guaranteed to meet or exceed client specifications.
All out of town projects will require additional charges for travel, lodging, car rental, and a per diem expenses, commensurate with the prevailing costs at job site location.
Meticulous records of receipts for materials, as well as an accurate, categoric hourly accounting for each day’s activity, will be submitted with all billings.
Payment Due Dates
Material costs are typically collected upfront, if they include items needing custom mixing, special ordering, or are expensive like 24 karat gold leaf, or catalyzed urethanes.
Labor costs are due as follows:
- Single jobs requiring one or two days are due at the completion of the job, prior to client collection. Minimum billing is one hour.
- Multi phase jobs are due at the end of each phase before beginning the next.
